DIRECTIONS TO LIBRARY THEATRE & PARKING
The Library Theatre is on the third floor of the Central Library in St George’s Square, in the centre of Luton. Access for the
disabled, including wheelchairs, is excellent. There is a dedicated car park for registered disabled adjacent to the Library building (badges must be displayed).
The former Library Car Park is still closed and its future is still being discussed. Meanwhile patrons coming by car should use
the Central car park (covered and security patrolled in the evening). It is free after 6pm. The map shows how to get to the Theatre from the car park.

If you are coming from out of town from the south, leave M1 at Junction 10 - A1081 LUTON/LUTON AIRPORT.
In about ¼ mile you come to a roundabout where you take the first exit into London Road (ignoring the sign for the second exit which actually directs you into Luton). Patrons from Harpenden and
St Albans will also reach this roundabout and take the second exit. Proceed down London Road, through traffic lights, down steep hill, and
through second set of lights. Shortly after these, you come to a major roundabout: here you turn right, i.e. take the
third exit sign-posted HITCHIN A505. At next roundabout take first exit sign-posted TOWN CENTRE (St Mary's
Road). Proceed through traffic lights by the church and then, keeping to the right-hand lane to avoid getting into a slip
road on the left leading to a car park, you come to a mini-roundabout where you turn left into Guildford Street. Take
the first left into Cheapside and then proceed into the Central Car Park at the end of the street.
If you are coming from out of town from the Hitchin area, you will approach Luton on the A505. You will come
through two miles of suburbs before you reach the town centre. You will be almost there when you pass under two
railway bridges, one after the other. Immediately after the second bridge, turn right at a mini-roundabout into
Guildford Street. Take the first left into Cheapside and then proceed into the Central Car Park at the end of the street.
If you are coming from out of town from the north (down the A6), after 2-3 miles of suburbs you should turn left
immediately before a railway bridge over the road, then keep right and follow the road under two more railway
bridges and over four sets of traffic lights. Just after the last set turn right into Cheapside and then proceed into the Central Car Park at the end of the street.
The Theatre is well served by public transport. Many buses terminate in Silver Street and others call at St George’s
Square. The Theatre is an easy walk from the railway station (trains to Bedford, Harpenden, St Albans, London etc).
